In this three-day intensive training session, followed up by semester-long assistance, full-time faculty will develop pedagogies and materials for courses to be taught fully online or as hybrids.
A fully online course involves no face-to-face meeting time; a hybrid course meets face-to-face, regularly or only at the beginning and/or end of the semester, replacing a substantial amount of meeting time with online synchronous or asynchronous activities. Courses with heavy online components deliver lectures, assignments, and other course material using various technologies, including course management tools (like Blackboard), discussion boards, online chat rooms, wikis, blogs, and virtual classrooms.

Those QC faculty who use (or who have used or expressed interest in using) Movable Type for blogging here at Queens College are invited to a roundtable discussion on the use of blogs in the classroom.
We hope to facilitate a candid and engaging discussion of the blogging experience. We welcome hearing about a specific task that benefitted (or not!) from the blogs interface, or how your course used the blogs in general, or ideas about how you might do things differently in the future.

The EdTech Lab and Center for Teaching & Learning are hosting the viewing of a webcast demonstration of Echo360, a lecture capture product.
"The reason for interest in this particular product is that the company is now forging close ties with Blackboard, and there is some momentum within the Bb committees to add the building block for Echo360 to our hosted system. It would be valuable to have an informed team as this decision nears." -Ken Lord, Assistant to the Provost for Educational Technology
The presentation will take place in the CTL Conference Room, Razran 318, at 1:00pm. Please let Mindy Miller (melinda.miller@qc.cuny.edu) know if you plan to attend.
Time: 1pm
