ePortfolio Conference at LaGCC

Making Connections: ePortfolio, Integrative Learning, and Assessment
A national conference, scheduled for April 11 and 12 at LaGuardia Community College.

Making Connections will draw leaders in the field from across the country. LaGuardia students and faculty will showcase their groundbreaking innovations. The Making Connections conference provides a unique opportunity to examine the practice and promise of this transformative learning tool.

Stony Brook's Teaching, Learning + Technology Innovations in Education Colloquium

SUNY Stony Brook will be holding a colloquium on Innovations in Education. Their Call for Paper is as follows, as taken from https://tlt.stonybrook.edu/FacultyServices/FacDev/Workshops/Pages/InnovationsinEducation.aspx:

This event is for anyone who teaches at a University (faculty, lecturers, adjuncts and Graduate TA’s) who would like to share their experiences with colleagues.

We would like to thank Dr. Larry Ragan from the World Campus at Penn State for agreeing to be our Key Note Speaker.

The Call for presenters is in progress, we are seeking faculty who have experience in the following areas:

* Research - Library resources, Grants to support teaching initiatives, Copyright
* Pedagogy - large lectures, assessment, group work, teaching skills
* Technology - Instructional Technology, Academic Administration Tools (Lotus Notes, SOLAR), Academic uses of software, Web 2.0 technologies - blogs, Second Life, wikis, etc.
* Professional Development - Presentation skills, Teaching Portfolio's
* Tenure & Promotion at Stony Brook - Policies, procedures, tips, peer review process

Birds of Feather Roundtables will be available for groups to discuss topics of mutual interest.
