Library technologies: Getting connected

The Center for Teaching and Learning, in collaboration with the Rosenthal Library Faculty, is offering a seminar on teaching and learning using library resources. The seminar is split across two meetings, one in Fall 2008, the other (date and topic to be determined) in Spring 2009.

The first workshop is a hands-on introduction to the range of online tools the Library offers to supply the kinds of content used in teaching, with specific attention to how to teach students to use them.

Location: Razran 318
Time: 12-4 pm

Lunch and late afternoon refreshments will be served.

Blogging Roundtable Discussion

Those QC faculty who use (or who have used or expressed interest in using) Movable Type for blogging here at Queens College are invited to a roundtable discussion on the use of blogs in the classroom.

We hope to facilitate a candid and engaging discussion of the blogging experience. We welcome hearing about a specific task that benefitted (or not!) from the blogs interface, or how your course used the blogs in general, or ideas about how you might do things differently in the future.

Location: Razran 318
Time: 11-12:30 pm

Light refreshments will be served.
