Earthquake relief benefit

ASIAN-THEMED BENEFIT AT QUEENS COLLEGE JUNE 13 TO SUPPORT EARTHQUAKE RELIEF EFFORTS IN CHINAPlease join the members of the Model United Nations Club at Queens College as they present an evening of Chinese art, martial arts, music, and cuisine at the college’s LeFrak Concert Hall on Friday, June 13, from 6:30 to 11 pm, to benefit earthquake relief efforts in China. General admission tickets will be available for $15 at the LeFrak Box Office, located inside the Music Building, at 5 pm on the day of the event. All proceeds will go to the humanitarian Tzu Chi Foundation to sponsor aid for the victims.
The evening will feature an exhibition of Asian art donated for a silent auction. Monks from the Shaolin Temple in Flushing will present a martial arts demonstration, and the chamber ensemble Music from China will play its blend of traditional and contemporary Chinese music on Chinese and Western instruments. The evening will close with a reception featuring vegetarian Chinese cuisine from the Buddha Bodai restaurant in Flushing.
The event is sponsored by the Model United Nations Club at Queens College, the Office of the President, the Office of the Vice President for Institutional Development, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and the Chinese Students Association.
