The Dead

Okay, I hope this doesn't freak anybody out, but last night I had a dream that someone in our class died. I don't want to say who, because that would just make that person uncomfortable. Anyway, I dreamed that I was on the blogs when I read a posting that this person died. I was completely shocked and saddened. Everyone was posting comments about how he or she would be missed and how awful the whole situation was. I don't recall exactly how this person died, but someone on the blog mentioned that he or she had a smoking habit. Another blogger said something about our honors exam: "We shouldn't postpone the honors exam. He/She would have wanted us to move forward." In waking life, I do wish that the honors exam would be moved to a later date. That's what I really think the dream is about. It is less about a classmate dying and more about how the honors exam is causing me anxiety.

Mr. Mxylplyx:

C'mon, that's not fair. Who died, you've gotta tell us! What if it's a premonition, like in Final Destination or something! What if this was just the first of a series of visions, predicting our doom! We could be all headed on a trip to the MoMa, and our transportation could spontaneously burst into flames and explode and kill us all! AAaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!

virtual light:

final destination is a creepy movie... i'm actually suprised that i don't dream about class or classmates more often... with all the disscussion of dreaming that we've had- it's interesting that your anxiety for the text manifested in that way. that part about "he/she would have wanted us to take it" is very funny in a weird way- like super melodramatic...

Sonomas:

well that certainly woke me up, and today that isn't easy to do. a dead classmate. i'm not sure i want to know who though. it certainly gives one pause. by the way, after that entry about our trip to MOMA, I'll meet you guys there :)

Lady Hira:

I hope it wasn't me. It's okay if it was though since it's only a dream. (Okay, maybe I shouldn't be joking about this.) I've never had a dream about one of our classmates though... or maybe I have and I just don't remember? Anyway, I understand what you mean. I think everyone is worried about the exam. I actually had a dream the other night about my missing some meeting because I couldn't come for some reason. The meeting is pretty important, and perhaps I'm a little bit nervous about it, so my mind made up some crazy concoction for me to miss this meeting. Our minds have wonderful and imaginative ways of letting us know how we realy feel without being direct. It's a bit annoying sometimes uncoding these dreams though. Anyway, just try your best on the exam and try not to worry. It'll all be over with soon. All you can do now is study as much as you can. I'm sure everything will turn out fine. I wish you the best of luck on the exam! =)

Lydgate:

Well, if all dreams aren't wish-fulfillment, this one certainly is! A morbid form of it, but...

silent partner:

I may be weird but I think this is funny and am DYING to know who it is...(bad joke!sorry!) Seriously though, it does seem to be more about postponing the exam than the death. What I think is most funny is that in the dream we are all nonchalantly discussing the persons death on our blogs and that they would want us to do the exam ..?! I think you are right not to say who, in fact, but at the same time am still curious to know if it's me or not !

Optimus2g:

Sounds like me, since I'm the walking dead anyway--figuratively as well as literally, nowadays, with all the shit on my mind and the work I have to do. You gotta give up the goods though about who the bit the dust in your dream! What a grup, huh? We're reduced to placing odds on and guessign who took a dirt nap in your dream (lol). June can't come soon enough, it seems.....ha-ha!

Sonomas:

I must admit I check this entry from time to time to see if you've given up the person's name! Obviously you haven't, but maybe by May 16th you'll have changed your mind!

vitaminc:

Hehe...this dream and blog discussion is making me laugh. I think your dream confirms the priority this class has in our lives. So far, I've had paper dreams and test dreams...no classmate dreams...yet :)

Scarlet Pimpernel:

This dream came at an interesting time. I actually had a dream the other day about one of our classmates committing suicide. I'll post it later this week. It's creepy, ain't it?
