Dreams over Break
I have been dreaming a lot and remembering my dreams almost every night, which is pretty radical considering I never used to remember my dreams at all. I'm encouraged by this and I hope to keep this up for the rest of my life. I've also found dreams slipping into my fiction writing in ways I would never have considered before.
So why is there nothing in my blog for the new year? Well, laziness, I suppose, as well as a deep-seated need to really crash and do nothing related to school for a few weeks.
This afternoon I took a nap and I found myself walking down the street with an old coworker in Astoria, which is where he lives. We're holding hands, like we're a couple, but I've never really felt that way about him (this was probably a tie-over from my recently overly dramatic romantic life). We talk and laugh about the old times, then we hug and promise to catch up again sometimes. It's summer, but he's wearing a large fur coat, which he was wearing in the last picture I saw of him. He walks off to meet his girlfriend, while I smile and wave and move on my way.
