I'm looking for my SO, who is busy working. I finally find him and we make arrangements to meet up later. He's supposed to call me and let me know when and where to find him.
Scene change. They're shooting a movie in the next room and I have been dragged into it as an extra. I don't want to be in the movie, but they just need someone to sit at a table with a bunch of other people, so I reluctantly say okay.
We're there as they continue developing the script and making it more and more elaborate. It's something about a dragon and a city being destroyed. There's a lot of red in the imagery.
Finally, I fed up and go talk to the director about when I would get to leave - I did have an appointment to get to, after all. The director stresses how important my role is and shows me where I have a small speech that's really important. "A speech?" I say. "I didn't know I had a speech." But I do, he tells me, and it needs to be delivered in a Boston accent, so no one could do it but me.
"But I can't do a Boston accent," I tell him. "I don't want to be a part of this anymore."
I reiterate my position a few times, trying to make him understand, but then I just leave, because I have a date, after all.

This is comic scenario. It's funny that you realize you have a speech to deliver, and rather than getting nervous, you simply leave. Many dreams where you realize you need to do something you have not memorized usually end in panic.

It's definitely comedic, the way you tell this story dream. I am going to get all psychotherapy on you now though and say it really seems to be about trying to juggle work, school and personal life (which I completely relate to!) I feel the movie scene and the director represents work and bosses and they are wanting you to work late. The fact that it is a movie with dialogue etc. relates to writing and it's pull on you, (impending speeches make me thingk group presentations!)and then the SO is waiting too,(interesting that he was busy at work when you were looking for him at the start). So the personal life wins this round, at least in dream world :)

I agree with the connection made between your dream and the idea of juggling all the things in life. I immediately thought of that when you just left because you had a date even though you were very crucial to the scene. Have you had to make a decision where you had to pick one thing over another and had to dissapoint one side? It does seem that you might be having a hard time juggling everything, but by you leaving for a date and not dealing with the stressful aspects of deadlines, I feel that things are going to get less stressful for you mentally. =)
