I forgot about this one

Another kind of recurring dreams that I have are about video games, or games in general actually. When I was younger I used to constantly dream that I was in a real life video game. I would have tasks to accomplish and I had some kind of supernatural power like jumping really high or running really fast like sonic the hedgehog (remember sonic?). Sometimes I'd be up in the sky and sometimes I'd be in a house or a tomb of some sort and would have to enter secret passage ways to find a coin or some other typically game-y object. It funny that I would have dreams of this kind because I never had video games when I was younger. The closest I got to them was a little hand held 2 stage game with the Little Mermaid (I LOVE the Little Mermaid, btw. lol). These dreams might have been due to the fascination engendered by deprivation.

Anyway, I had a dream of this kind not too long ago. I don't remember the specifics though I think a vampire was involved.. or a mummy. It was strange being reminded of all the dreams I used to have. It "just hit me.. like lightning!" (that's a line from the T.L.M... dont judge me.).

english teacher:

I just had a dream like this about the SIMS. I have a recurring dream very similar, if you check my blog. I wonder why for us gaming dreams are significant. I wonder what dreams about childhood (or not so childhood) games reveal.

Scott Cheshire:

Wow. For some reason I've never given real thought to dreams from my youth. There were a few specific ones that are stamped on my consciousness forever I think. But overall, I can't remember anything thematic that qualified my young dreams. I wonder if this is some grander scale version of forgetting dreams so quickly. If they have some purpose, some daily therapeutic purpose, then it's no wonder we forget them so fast. And more so, why remember them from years ago? But the ones we remember, does that mean we still need them? Maybe so.

Scarlet Pimpernel:

I used to have dreams like this all the time. I guess the most interesting parts of our lives back then were when we were playing video games. Stupid video games...

P.S. I would never judge you. I used to love that movie!

John A. Dreams:

That's so weird that you would dream of games without actually playing them. How imaginative! Perhaps Jung would say you were compensating for lack of Sega Genesis.
