Dream: Halloween-style

Michael Myers, the crazed killer from the Halloween movies, makes yet another appearance in my dreams. This time, he's after me in a strange suburban house that I can't find my way out of. There is a huge whole in the center of the house and you can see from the basement up to the top floors. It's dark outside. The neighborhood resembles the one in which I grew up. The cops come but they can't find Michael. They assure me it's OK to go back inside the house. Of course, it isn't. Michael chases me again. I don't remember much else even though I know there was more.

Haha...you would probably disagree, but this was a funny dream. However, there is a couple things I can't stand in life, and the Halloween music is one of them. That's why when I saw Michael Myers, I was like oh no. But I read it anyway =)

It's funny that the cops told you it was ok to go back into the house, and you sort of already know in your dream that it isn't. And Michael chases you again. I've had so many chasing dreams, but I still don't know what to make of them. It could be a fear of being caught or being chased, I don't know...do you have fears like these?

Or it could be those damn scary movies that just do it in for us lol

Yes, I am a dumbass who can't type a grammatical sentence! Lol. Please delete this and the other dumbass sentence. :(

John A. Dreams:

Carl Jung would say that Michael Myers is part of the collective shadow archetype. He represents that unrelenting evil in the collective unconscious of mankind.

However the glibness of your description makes this comical. Really your awareness of the horror movie cliches is funny but also very telling. "They assure me it's OK to go back inside the house" and "of course, it isn't."

Perhaps Jung would agree with me when I suggest that your comical take on the darker side of the unconscious might be compensation for you taking it so seriously in your research project.
