At 7 am my boyfriend woke me up saying, "Okay, it's your turn to drive," we were parked in the lot behind our apartment building. We had just returned home from a month long road trip where I would often wake up to this statement and see the edge of a mountain, or a huge brick wall. I woke up thinking that we would be around Maryland, so it was a semi-nice surprise to see that we had finally arrived at home. Six hours later we were back in the car and I was on my way to school.

Last Friday I got into an accident on the Expressway and my car rolled over 1 1/2 times, coming to a stop upside down. All three passengers in the car had to be taken to the hospital and put in neck braces on the scene. Every night since the accident I have had the same dream:

This is the first instance in school where I have had to actually read Freud, rather than just read about him. I have learned/heard about his snootiness; that he always thinks his theories and views are correct and undisputible, but I have often considered this to just be the oppinions of people who want to argue against him. I can now justify this claim, after reading his own words on my own. The guy thinks whatever he says is absolute! Often, it seems, he pulls his readers around in circles so that by the time he gets to his point (in this instance, that all dreams are wish fullfillment) there is so much confusion that it seems easiest to just agree with him. I do agree, as it would be impossible not to, that he has contributed immeasurably to the advances in Psychology over the past century, but as far as his dream analysis is concerned, he can keep it.
