Does "cold hands, warm heart" then mean "boring dreams, interesting life" ?

I dreamt that I was in a department store looking at racks of earrings. I was pleased that I could get three for around $10 and I was spending a lot of time choosing which ones to get. Then I was in another part of the store and a woman I didn't know was being friendly to me and we
were talking about picking out some clothes. It was a pretty mundane but inoffensive dream.

Dreams and worrying

Hartmann says dreams reflect the emotions you are having at the time. I would not say I am worrying about anything major at the moment at all, perhaps some little worries are always there, but this morning I had two dreams right after one another which involve worrying. In one, there was the depressing event of a gay friend of mine saying he is HIV positive and talking about taking AZT (not sure if that is even correct) drugs for it. I remember the dream being quite matter of fact though - not highly emotional, which is strange given the content. In reality my friend is totally fine, perfectly healthy. Then I fell asleep again and was dreaming about my mother hurting her leg and it not healing. This is almost identical to reality because she did hurt her leg recently and it took a long while to heal because she is getting older and taking medicine to thin her blood. This dream was more about thinking about how to stop that from happening again but instead of regular waking thoughts, it felt as if when I woke up I would be speaking with my mother, and be in the place where she is (where I grew up) and it was the days when it happened, instead of far away and over a month later.

Philip Levine's poetry

As we have read an article by Levine, I thought it would be useful to have one of his poems posted. He is an american poet born in 1928 in Detroit. He has written poems about the working class struggling. He says in the article we read, there "are very few good poems that aren't political". In this poem there is a lot of politics regarding work and hard times but there is also the deep emotions of the relationship between two brothers.

British Literature : 1945 to Present (posted Mar 4th)

In this guide I have given an overview of the time period and listed authors and works. In poetry it is authors only. Under fiction the author's list will mainly help if you are already familiar with that author's name or work and can now place them in a category. Other than that, I have listed the category or theme to the left of the author so you can see what themes/style come up. There may be just one example of that 'style' but the list is there to show the different types of subjects and writing. For the authors I highlighted ones that are either mentioned in the Norton preface AND in the index, or they have come up in more than one spot when I looked at some class syllabii for US colleges that are posted on the web, but it is still quite subjective and somewhat guesswork as to who I think is most important. If anyone knows of anyone major that I missed, please let me know.
