"Titania Sleeping" by Richard Dadd

Dadd,Richard
Le sommeil de Titania - Titania Sleeping. (Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream).
This painting depicts Titania, the Queens of Fairies, sleeping. The Art Resouce site suggests that this painting is a product of the art movement entitled "Naturalism". The artist of this image, Richard Dadd lived during the Victorian age (the 19th century).
"Titania Sleeping" reminds me of when Titania tells the other fairies to "sing me now asleep" in the 2nd scene of Act II of A Midsummer Night's Dream. In this scene, "She lies down [and the] Fairies sing and dance". Although I cannot hear them singing, I can see that there are fairy-like individuals dancing in the background, and they look as if they must be dancing to some sort of music. The two females near the sleeping maiden, who I believe to be Titania, look as if they may be trying to lull her into sleep.

"Titania and Bottom" by Henry Fuseli

Titania and Bottom (circa 1790)
Oil on canvas- painting
This is the painting on the cover of A Midsummer Night's Dream (Oxford World's Classics edition)! The painting displays Titania and Bottom who have fallen in love. Here, Bottom has an "ass-head", while Titania is next to him, and there are fairies all around them. This painting is most likely a depiction of Act IV, scene 1 where "Titania, Queen of Fairies, and Bottom with the ass-head, and fairies: Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Mote, and Mustardseed" all enter.
